Tersa Critical Minerals today announced its rebrand from Tersa Earth Innovations and the upcoming pilot deployment of its TersaClean platform in partnership with the Yinka Dene Economic Development General Partner Partnership, wholly owned by the Wet’suwet’en First Nation.
The rebrand reflects the company’s focus on recovering critical minerals from mine wastewater while addressing one of the mining sector’s most persistent environmental challenges. As global demand for critical minerals accelerates, Tersa Critical Minerals is advancing a scalable solution that strengthens supply chains while improving environmental performance.
The TersaClean platform uses a biology-driven process to recover critical minerals from mine-impacted water while simultaneously removing contaminants and neutralizing acidity. In pilot conditions, the system has demonstrated up to 99 percent copper removal and more than 98 percent recovery of key restricted metals.
The upcoming pilot deployment will validate the platform in a real-world operating environment. The project is designed to demonstrate the ability to recover valuable minerals, improve water quality for safe discharge or reuse, and reduce long-term environmental liabilities associated with mine wastewater.
The partnership with the Wet’suwet’en First Nation reflects a shared commitment to advancing practical solutions that support environmental restoration and long-term economic opportunity. The pilot will also support the development of a collaborative model for responsible resource development that integrates Indigenous leadership and land stewardship.
Tersa Critical Minerals’ modular system is designed for integration into existing mining operations, enabling rapid deployment without disrupting workflows. By converting wastewater treatment into a source of recovered value, the platform offers both operational and environmental benefits for mining operators.
The company is currently advancing from pilot to early commercial deployment, with a focus on scaling its technology across active and legacy mining sites. With more than 20 critical minerals addressable, Tersa Critical Minerals is positioned to support growing demand for secure and sustainable mineral supply.
Tersa Critical Minerals is a Canadian cleantech company developing biology-driven solutions that transform mine wastewater into clean water and recoverable resources. Through partnerships with industry and Indigenous communities, the company is building a new standard for mining that aligns economic performance with environmental responsibility.
